Trauma & PTSD
“My life just feels stuck in time.”
“i don’t know how anyone could love me.”
“i want to feel alive again”
Sound familiar?
I see you.
Traumatic experiences block our nervous system’s ability to be able to integrate the experience, leading to unresolved patterns. This can show up in our view of our self, our relationships, and are vision for our futures. Traumatic experiences also impact our ability to maintain employment, take care of our basic needs, and be able to form positive emotional connections with others.
Trauma creates alternate patterns in our nervous system, leading to chronic dysregulation and a lack of presence. These symptoms can feel like the world is closing in on you, and perhaps that there is not a way back to a life before the traumatic experience.
I am here to tell you that through your reconnection to the body with the support of somatic counseling, you can access the flow of the past. You are not the trauma you have experienced, and together we will find your inner peace again.
Find
safety within
Using somatic orientation, I will support you in finding an inner sense of safety and connection.
We will move slowly with care to ensure you feel fully resourced to explore the underlying causes of the challenges you are experiencing.
identify
root causes
Through exploring with the internal felt sense of your experiences, we will work together to identify the unresolved patterns in your nervous system.
We will titrate this process, meaning we will dip into the activation intentionally to embrace what shows up as we are curious together.
reach
flow
By pendulating between the grounding resources and the activation causing your distress, we will slowly release what is stuck in your nervous system.
In a Somatic Experiencing counseling process, you will be empowered to calm tension when it arrives, find new answers to move forward, and build your window to tolerate activation.

My work with clients is intentional, invitational, and slow. You will always be offered choices of where you want to explore each session. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to share the pain we are holding.
-
My career in social work, spanning nearly 10 years in practice, has centered around individuals and families impacted by traumatic experiences.
I have provided mental health services to unhoused folks, formerly incarcerated young adults on the South & West sides of Chicago, and with severely mentally ill adults in a library setting. Through this work, I have found that each of can navigate the waves of trauma when we feel safe internally and in our relationships.
As I work with folks impacted by trauma, I maintain consistent consultation with other trauma providers and spend 20+ hours in somatic experiencing clinical development every three months to continue growing my skillset to support my clients.
