MEET Dan stribling-vergara, LCSW

Trauma Therapist IN Evanston, il

Let me guess:

You're here because you know there is more to this life.

Struggling to move past feeling stuck from past trauma can be an overwhelming and isolating experience. The lingering effects of emotional wounds can often manifest in various aspects of daily life, hindering one's ability to fully engage with the present moment.

You are tired of spending your countless days and hours scheduling doctor’s appointments, reading self-help books, or trying alternative wellness practices. Everything you attempt seems to lead back to the same result.

I want you to know that together we can find the answers that you seek within.

you’re in the right spot.

How I work

At the core of my approach to counseling is a belief that we all have the capacity for healing.

I say this because it has been the constant truth I have experienced in my nearly 10 years of practice in the mental health field. As a young queer person growing up in the 90s, I know deeply what it can feel like to be isolated, fear for safety, and not be certain this world had space for me. It has been through my own counseling and healing journey that I have found my passion to hold space with trauma survivors.

My work has always been about building bridges over barriers and creating webs of support in collaboration with the beautiful souls I am able to hold space with. My experience in providing treatment for trauma is extensive, including doing trauma work with young experiencing homelessness, young adults previously incarcerated, college-aged LGBTQ+ students, and chronically unhoused adults.

The human body is not an instrument to be used, but a realm of one’s being to be experienced, explored, enriched, and thereby, educated.

We’ll dig deep at the pace you need.

My approach will offer you the opportunity to drill down towards the root of your current challenges at the speed that feels right for your nervous system. Every person has different patterns that develop based on lived experiences, so I will ensure that you receive the mindful care you deserve.

You are piloting this plane.

In our process together, you are the expert of your experience. I will work to establish a container in which we can hold the pain, the challenges, and growth, and the journey together. I will always defer to you to lead the journey, but I consider myself a copilot on this healing journey- I am here for guidance through the turbulence that will come with life.

you can be safe here.
